There are mainly three kind of strapping seals produced here in China, poly strapping seals which are usually in the shape of closed type without a "mouth" in the middle of the seal that most Asian workers prefer to use for light strapping practice. The second one is PET strapping seals which are newly emerged industry not more than 10 years, since PET strapping itself has been developed widely no more than two decades, enterprisers pay much attention to the automatic production line of PET strapping manufacturing but have less time ( maybe have less energy) to approach to automatic manufacturing the PET strapping seal that are in no small scale of demanding in the markets all across world. The last one is most headache problem for a lot of bosses who have their only steel coil materials but have no ready machine to produce the seal to match the supply of steel strapping for their customers which are not only a value added new marketing item but also a necessary measure to keep customers not turn away to those having the seals ready to match the steel strapping. As we Chinese say " two Grams of tiny ting can move 500KG object by lightly levering up"
Poly Strapping Seals There are mainly two widths of the poly strapping seals in the market now, one is for strapping width of 12mm or 1/2" and another is for the 15mm or 5/8".In China usually the makers are producing the seals manually because in most rural areas the small workshop, they are making use of scraps of tins which often used and thrown away by food industry enterprises which are in the size of 16mm width or more than 16mm since there are a lot poly strapping maker using too much recycled PP material and add too much powders (reducing cost) to make the poly strapping and make them become more and more irregular shaping such like the width of 15.5mm, 16mm,17mm, and some even 18mm! So the the scrap tin seals are matching such irregular poly strapping very well!( fellow suffers, aren't they!) But for 12mm (1/2") width of poly strapping, things are quite different because in that most of the 12mm width strapping has been made with pure or original raw material which tension is even much stronger than those of 16mm( 5/8") poly strapping. The need for the 12mm (1/2") also become problem in China since very few can produce those tiny small 12mm width seals for that industry. But in market other than China or Asia people are using " open" and thicker seals for the 12mm (1/2") seal which thickness sometimes is three or four times more than the seals we used here in China.
